The standard by which modern varieties are judged, this variety is a disease-resistant plant. It makes a mild-flavored syrup with good body and amber color. Its high volume of juice makes for excellent quality syrup making. Germinates well. Also very productive for grain and compost. This variety has been acclimated to the warmer southern climate throughout the years making it a regionally adapted, reliable, heirloom seed.
